I’m always on the hunt for Burgundy that does not have prices that resemble phone numbers! And at a recent tasting I sampled a delicious Cote de Beaune Villages from Joseph Drouhin. With some of the fruit sourced from the famous Clos des Mouches, this wine delivers WAY ABOVE it’s price.
And we have the best price anywhere by $5.00 per bottle….and that is before the case discount! Only 10 cases available. The wine arrives tomorrow. If you love Burgundy, this is one to grab a case of. Perfect for Thanksgiving dinner.
According to the appellation laws, 16 different villages of the Côte de Beaune (Aloxe-Corton, Beaune, Pommard and Volnay are the exceptions) can be blended to make Côte de Beaune Villages. Joseph Drouhin carefully selects the grapes of only a few of these villages.History & tradition: guided by rigorous tasting and age-old experience, Maison Joseph Drouhin decides which villages will be selected. It is mostly Domaine fruit with some young vines from the Clos des Mouches and other 1er Cru parcels!

(Burg Hound 88-90) “Outstanding Top Value”
An earthy array of both red and dark berry fruit, plum and soft spice nuances precedes the utterly delicious and vibrant middle weight flavors that possess good concentration in the context of what is typical for the appellation. Like the delivery as well as the persistence and this would make for a terrific all-around house red.
