I first offered this wine in March of this year and sold out so quickly it made my head spin! I then got another delivery in April and that all disappeared instantly as well. I just secured another 9 cases that has landed in Florida and will arrive at WPW this Friday. This wine has never made it on the shelf!

Below is my original e mail from March
I normally don’t send out e mails on Saturday. But when this arrived today ahead of schedule and I pulled a cork on another bottle, I was beside myself and could not wait till next week. This is BORDEAUX Of The Year so far. 2010 La Devise de Lilian St Estephe, the 2nd wine of Lilian Ladouys. A rare combination of complexity, style, grace and value. This is a Must Have wine for any wine drinker and if you love Bordeaux buy all you can afford. I did. When I tasted this last month I bought all they had and now it is here. Grab at least a case you will thank me later. A $100 dollar wine for $25.
Lilian Ladouys began to gain fame in 1654 when it was known at that time under the name of La Doys. This 47 hectare estate in St Estephe is located next to Cos D’Estournel and Lafon Rochet. Some pretty good neighbors to say the least. It is planted in 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 62% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Average age of the vines is 40 years with the oldest being 60. The terroir is typical of St Estephe with gravel, clay and limestone soils. La Devise de Lilian is comprised of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. All are hand harvested then aged in barrel for 12-14 months.

This is classic Bordeaux/St Estephe at its best. Beautiful deep garnet color. Aromas of juicy crushed red and black fruits, crème de cassis, cedar and graphite waft from the glass. The palate is powerful and graceful at the same time with blueberry liqueur, vanilla and brioche. There is a seamless integration of acidity, alcohol, tannins and oak. A wine that can win over the most experienced Bordeaux expert and convert all others to a Bordeaux or Bust mentality! The finish lingers complex and long enticing you to take another sip. While stunning right now, this wine will improve for another 5 years if you could somehow not drink it all immediately. IT IS THAT GOOD. And at this price you will feel like you stole it.
