Chateau Puy Blanquet is owned by the Jacquet family. It has been their property since the estate was purchased by Roger Jacquet in 1958. Today Madame Marcelle Jacquet is the owner and the person in charge of Chateau Puy Blanquet. The wine making, vineyard management and sales are all the responsibility of the Ets. Moueix company under a long Term leasing agreement. The 20 hectare, Right Bank vineyard of Chateau Puy Blanquet is located in the commune of Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse, in the eastern portion of Saint Emilion appellation. At the property, you are not quite at the eastern edge of Saint Emilion, but if you keep driving another 5 minutes or so, you will reach the Cotes de Castillon border. The vineyard is planted to 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are on average, 25 years of age. The vineyard is planted to a vine density of 5,000 vines per hectare. The vineyard has a terroir of clay and limestone soils

*2014 Puy Blanquet St Emilion
$16.99btl/$180.00 per case
“That’s $15btl by the case!”
(Jim Sirna 92)

The 2014 Vintage continues to over deliver. The color is deep and beckons you in to sample the ripe and rich plum and black cherry notes that remain vibrant and fresh. There is ample depth and concentration and a complex array of spices, wood and earth notes. The finish is plush and lingers on for a full 60 seconds. This is a Best Buy for sure!
(James Suckling 90)
Not only does this have a lot of savory character but some chocolate and earth to boot. New wood is there, too. Then there’s a stack of tannins that don’t leave you in any doubt.
