Sleeper of the Vintage
I sent this e mail out back in October when the 2015 Bordeaux Futures arrived.
I had 20 cases we sold out almost instantly and I was unable to fill many orders. Well I managed to find some more so grab it now before it is all gone again!
I feel like a kid at Christmas! The 2015 Bordeaux have arrived and I get to taste my way through the “little wines” I selected at the barrel tastings almost 3 years ago. The last few days have featured such wines and today I have a true SLEEPER OF THE VINTAGE, Chateau de Laussac. I bought it before it got the below review from Wine Advocate so we have the best price anywhere and I have rare large formats.
But there is NOT A LOT OF IT!
THERE COULD BE RATIONING
Respond to this e mail before it’s all gone
Located on the remarkable hillsides which skirt the city of Saint-Emilion , Château de Laussac has been a privileged place for wine for 200 years. The property located in the town of Saint-Magne Castillon covers 28 hectares of vineyards. The annual production of 180,000 bottles is divided into 1 rosé wine and 4 red wines corresponding to different terroirs. Alexandra and Nicolas acquired the Château de Laussac in 2004. Since then, the famous oenologist Michel Rolland has advised him. Château de Laussac benefits from the most attentive and enlightened care in viticulture and winemaking in a spirit of excellence and a quest for perfection. In a spirit of unflagging exigency, he continues today his ascent towards ever more delicacy and complexity. Château de Laussac produces rare and voluptuous pleasure wines that delight fans and connoisseurs alike.

The 2015 Laussac has a detailed, quite complex bouquet with lifted blackberry and cedar aromas, very expressive and welcoming. The palate is clean and fresh, very well balanced with grainy tannin, pure black and red fruit, and is beautifully poised with an elegant finish that is an absolute delight. Expect this to land at the top of my banded score – absolutely superb.
